A veteran educator has been chosen to lead Miami-Dade County Public Schools. Rafael Villalobos, 54, will take the reins. His career in the school system spans nearly three decades, starting as a teacher.

Villalobos has held various administrative roles, including Assistant Principal and Principal. Most recently, he served as South Regional Superintendent.
